In Austin, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Texas vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. Typical hours are 7:30 amβ5:30 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Austin is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. I would not trust this shop. I brought my Acura to Grand Imports because of a steering-wheel vibration while driving, significantly worse shaking under braking, clunking from the front end, and an intermittent Check Engine/emissions/parking-brake warning. Before bringing the car in, I specifically told them that a mechanic I trusted had previously found play in the driver-side inner tie rod. Grand Imports inspected it and told me the tie rod was βrock solid.β They instead diagnosed the clunk as coming from the struts/strut mounts. I was concerned because their diagnosis did not explain the steering-wheel vibration or why it became substantially worse under braking, so I paid another shop for a second opinion. Austinβs Finest Alignments & Brakes confirmed that the driver-side inner tie rod was bad. They also found that my front rotors were severely warped. They recommended addressing the tie rod and brakes before worrying about the struts. I had the inner and outer tie rod replaced, both front rotors replaced, and an alignment performed. The difference was immediate. The steering-wheel vibration is now substantially improved, the braking vibration is substantially improved, and

My axle was bad, but grand imports was here to save the day. They walked me through the process of what the sound was & what needed replacement. Javi had it finished in 1.5 hours which seemed very reasonable. Thank you Grand imports! Will be coming back.

Thank you for running my car through all of the diagnostics, I feel great knowing everything is running as it should be after you guys double checked my wheel alignment! I even asked if I should do my breaks while Iβm here and the gentleman behind the counter told me I could, but it would be a little earlier than needed as my brakes still have some good life left - that is amazing customer service and I will continue telling my friends and family to bring their vehicles here bc these guys are honest, competitively priced and do amazing work πͺπͺππ

I had an excellent experience with Grand Imports. They recently performed a timing cover reseal and replaced my drive belt tensioner with impressive precision. The work was completed in a very timely manner, which I truly appreciated. What really stood out was their professionalism and communication. They were a huge help in coordinating with my extended warranty company, making the entire process seamless and stress-free. It is rare to find a shop that is both technically skilled and great to work with on the administrative side. I will definitely continue to take my vehicles to Grand Imports for future service. Highly recommended!

Iβm in the military and finding a trustworthy auto repair shop can be stressful, but Grand Imports made the whole experience easy. They were super respectful, took the time to explain everything clearly, and didnβt try to upsell me on things I didnβt need. I also really appreciated that they offer a military discount, that meant a lot. The service was quick, pricing was fair, and my car is running great now. If youβre looking for an honest, reliable auto repair shop in Austin for Honda, Toyota, Acura, or Lexus, I definitely recommend Grand Imports.
